I'm not a Sony man myself, so I don't really know to be honest, but have you checked sites like www.dpreview.com and www.dcresource.com for reviews?

Also, if you don't have your heart set on a Sony but are looking for a small/thin camera, check out the Casio Exilim:

I just bought that one (the Z50) and like it a lot! 3x optical zoom, 5 MP, and best of all the ULTRA fast shutter lag - it takes pictures VERY quickly. The sensor is a bit noisy in low light situations, but I expected as much.
