Heya guys, just wondering, anyone here use a D2H? What's the biggest you've printed to, and how does it look? Generally I'd like to be able to do 20x30s that don't look too soft when viewed from 20". Also any information on the noise characteristics will be helpful. Thanks for any feedback you can give!

Don't know about the D2H, but a local camera store has a 2 part stitched photo taken with a Canon 10D (6.3mp) that they use to show off digital capabilities. It's stitched vertically and printed 8x8 - feet, not inches. I have a 20x30 print from my 1D MkII that is very sharp at 10 inches. So I'm guessing that the same size from the D2H shouldn't be a problem.

Thanks Bob, but the D2H has different noise characteristics, so it might not hold up so well compared to the Canon cameras you just mentioned.

Hmm. Hadn't thought about that. Hopefully, someone with a D2H will follow up here.

I just happened to think, one of the members of a photo club I'm in has the D1H (or D1 something). If he's there Tuesday evening (21st) I'll ask him what size he's done. I realize the cameras have different specs, but perhaps it'll give you something to go on until someone with a D2H answers.

The D1 owner wasn't at the meeting last night but I talked to several of the Nikon owners about your question. While none had seen any 20x30 prints from the D2H, several had seen large prints from its siblings (D100, D70, etc.) and all agreed that crisp 20x30 prints from the 12mp D2H should not be a problem.

Eh? D2H is 4mp, not 12! If it was 12 I'd be expecting wall-to-ceiling sized prints! =D

Thanks for asking Bob12! (^^) much appreciated!

Sorry - I guess I was thinking of the D2X. I have enough trouble keeping Canon models straight. :)
