For starters, its unique construction and contours make it deceptively slim-looking—this puppy will hold most 17” screen laptops and a ton of gadgets, files and accessories. Next, it has a patented Air Square™ protection system that surrounds your laptop with hundreds of shock-absorbing, air-filled pouches. Surrounding the laptop compartment are pockets, pockets everywhere—over a dozen in all—to hold everything from your PDA to your Perrier. Skooba bags are also the first in the world to incorporate “Rivet Ready” attachment points, onto which you can mount the optional Rivet® micro clip system. Here’s the kicker… this bag, with all its bells and whistles, weighs a scant 44 ounces."</i><br /><br /><img src="http://www.digitalmediathoughts.com/images/skooba_satchel_tan_lg.jpg" /><br /><br />I'm a huge fan of Roadwired bags - they're phenomenally made, and so well designed that I find all my gear fits in them very well...except for my 17" HP laptop. It fits in the big MegaMedia bag that I have, but just barely (and it's hard to get out). And as much as I like the MegaMedia bag, the styling is a tad, well, boring. ;-) The new Skooba satchels have a bit of flair, and from the looks if it, clever design. If you tend to grab your notebook and go, this looks like a great way to carry it. And remember that <a href="http://www.digitalmediathoughts.com/subscribe.php">subscribers</a> can save $10 off anything at RoadWired that's $50+, and $20 off anything that's $100+.

That looks pretty sweet. I've been looking for a camera bag that also holds my laptop but a lot of them are too bulky or too small to fit all my camera stuff. The LowePro CompuTrekker is about the closest I've found.

Does RoadWired have a laptop/camera bag for SLR's that holds lenses etc?

But those don't have a compartment for the notebook, do they?

I haven't found anything that's suitable too, might have to find suitable inserts for the Osprey Transit bags.

Doh! You're right - sorry - I thought he was just looking for a camera bag. I haven't seen a Roadwired bag that will do laptop + camera + lenses. That would be one BULKY bag...!

Yeah - most of them are pretty bulky! Kata makes some nice bags - they are an Israeli company distributed in North America by Bogen.

But I still have not found that perfect notebook/SLR combo...

Actually, it does depend on the size of your notebook. =P I use an IBM X20, and thanks to its small size I've been able to stuff it in my camera bags without too much of a problem.

I'm going to be getting a 15" PowerBook for college along with an external hard drive (somewhere between 160GB and 250GB), and I was wondering if you all thought that this bag would be large enough to handle all that fun stuff with some extra room? I think it's a really neat bag, and I'm looking for some other comparable bags. I have also looked into the Brenthaven that Apple offers for $125.

Thanks for the help.
