<div class='os_post_top_link'><a href='http://www.chait.net/index.php?p=520' target='_blank'>http://www.chait.net/index.php?p=520</a><br /><br /></div><i>"Samsung is on a roll, with the recent unveiling (and rerelease) of a number of digital audio players. Some we’ve seen before, but most are new (or new enough!) to us to cover them all at once. The first player was launched at the end of last month in Hong Kong (though had been announced previously): the new YP-T6 line of players (V and Z subseries). The 2.15″ x 0.87″ x 0.9″ sized and 1.05 oz T6V player is obviously the refresh in the T5 form factor, with the base model being 256MB (though there are also 128MB, 512MB, and 1G models). The YP-T6V upgrades off the T5 line with full USB2.0 support for lightning-fast transfers (most important for the T6Z at 1GB), can play MP3, WMA, ASF, and Ogg Vorbis files, and runs up to 20 hours on a single AAA battery."</i><br /><br /><img src="http://www.digitalmediathoughts.com/images/samsungypt6.jpg" /><br /><br />This article provides the entire list of the recently announced MP3 players by Samsung. They all look good and the best part is that they are all very well priced. Has anyone purchased a Samsung player? It would be nice to get an idea about the quality of their units.

With so many different players on the market these days, the first thing I look for now is what DRM format (if any) the device is compatible with. I know some of Samsung's other players work with Napster's WMA content, is this the case here?

OGG, MP3, WMA, whatever is all fine and good, but I don't want to have to go through the time and pain of burning a song I purchased to a CD before I can play it with my chosen device. What's more it should be automatically sync'ed a la iTunes/iPod. Is this asking too much??

Samsung is a member of the "Plays for sure" consortium, so yes they will natively play all wma's regardless of vendor.
They'll play pretty much everything except iTunes.
And, yes, they'll autosync.

What I want to know is about the *onboard* playlist creation and editing features and onboard auto-playlist generation.
Rio DJ has spoiled me, what can I say...? 8)
I don't *need* a PC with my current player except to load it up...
