The tool also lets you select a preferred decoder that will be used when synchronizing video to a portable device. The idea here is that decoders rev relatively frequently, and the Windows Media 10 platform adds some new features (including sync to mobile) that older decoders won't support. The tool is free, although they make you do the cheesy "validation" that essentially consists of clicking "do not validate."</i><br /><br />I can't remember whether we have posted on this already but this certainly seems like a worthwhile enough tool to warrant a potential dupe post. :) I only wish they had come out with something like this sooner.
