The MyFi lets you listen to all of XM's more than 130 digital stations anywhere you can see the sky. It will be available in December for a list price of $350. In addition to its pocket-friendly size and built-in rechargeable battery, the MyFi has a programmable TiVo-like recording buffer that can store up to five hours of XM broadcasts. For example, set it to record a favorite program overnight, and you can play it back on your commute without worrying about passing through tunnels or other reception blind spots. You also get some nice extras: chargers and stands for both your car and home, a cassette-tape adapter, an FM transmitter (to play broadcasts on any FM radio), headphones, a remote control, a belt clip, and a carrying case. Still not sold? The MyFi also displays sports scores and stock quotes, and in a pinch it can even be used as an alarm clock.</i>"<br /><br /><img src="http://www.digitalmediathoughts.com/images/31201701-2-300-overview-1.gif" /><br /><br />Satellite radio is becoming more than just a format to listen to inside you car and the XM MyFi can get you almost anywhere.

$350!!!!? You must be kidding. The only advantage this device holds over the current receiver setups is portability and I'm not sure I'd be willing to pay 2-3 times the price of a Roady or Skyfi for that. But then perhaps I'm not their ideal customer for this product :P .

The price is a bit high but if the price drifts lower ($200) I'll have to actually consider it.
Maybe a cheaper version without the buffer...
Better yet; a contract subsidy? ;-)

My concern is reception. Will this little device get a good reception inside a building or in a vehicle? I am looking at XM before next spring. If this device is decent than I could use it in both the family cars, at the office and hiking through the woods.
By the way, XM hooked me with the MLB. I bought a new Jeep last year and almost went with the Sirius. At the last minute I decided to wait and see what MLB was going to do. Now I can have my beloved Red Sox in the car. I listened to them on my Pocket PC this summer. Now I can leave my property. :)

Well I think you'll need to have "line of sight" to the sky, so inside buildings won't work unless you are near a window. But with the 5 hour recording buffer can help when you don't have access to the sky.

After using this for about a month I can say it is worth it. It works great in the car, with the included car kit. Works great at home, with all the included stuff for home setup. It falls short a bit in the user interface though. Its no Walkman in that regard but it was worth the money to me.

I see you are in LA. Does LA have the ground Xmitters or just SAT? I am in OH and there are no Ground xmiters.
We are getting closer to the first pitch. I think I'll be getting one, jsut want to make sure it'll work well.
