Every display conference we've attended lately has featured different technologies' proponents purveying the "world's largest". These are of course always non-shipping prototypes, and when pressed, most concede that shipping an 80" plasma panel or a 57" LCD panel in any kind of quantity is still several years off. Back here in a little place we like to call reality, plasma display panels (PDPs) still hold the advantage in the size war, with the largest single-panel PDP on the market currently measuring 63 inches. Samsung is closing the gap with this new LT-P468W LCD panel--46 inches of high-definition goodness. Samsung's latest LCD progeny doesn't match the sheer size of the 50"-plus plasma displays, but it offers something no current PDP can--true 1080p (1920x1080) pixel resolution."

Yowzaa!!! A bit pricey at $5800 but, Wow! One of the few faults, they say, is that even though the colors really pop, it ends up muddling up the greys and blacks far too often. Of course, remember that I am looking at a crappy 32" these days so I don't think I would mind too much. :) Anyways, the guys over at ExtremeTech really like the TV.
