I know this is minor news but I remember that some of you own the Pentax *ist D DSLR.
I came soooo close to buying a(n) *istD. I really didn't want to follow everyone else and get a DReb or D70.
So I ordered my *istD from an on-line store, only to find it was a bait and switch special. I escaped without too much trouble and bought a D70. Great decision so far!!

Why not the 10D or 20D? Cost?

The 20D wasn't announced at the time. I did think hard about the 10D, but reading the reviews it seemed that the D70 was pretty much as good at a much lower price. I didn't have any lenses so that didn't have an effect.
I need to look into getting a second body soon, so the lower price is a nice deal. I have three lenses now, so I'm already locked into the Nikon system. The super wireless flash system is one of the best things I've found. A second SB800 is high on my Xmas list. :D
