The latest release of Beyond TV 3 now supports multiple tuners, letting you record more than one show at a time. It even lets you watch one show while simultaneously recording another. No more having to choose between your favorite prime time shows. Leno or Letterman? Why not both? Now you can have your cake and eat it too! With the latest improvements to the software, Beyond TV 3 can now display multiple channel lineups from different sources, so you can setup one TV tuner to receive digital cable input, while another receives analog cable. Mix it up anyway you like."</i><br /><br />SnapStream has released a brand-spanking new version of their excellent Beyond TV3 software, but I find myself less than enthused because they seem to have taken out one of the coolest features that the software had. In version 3.0, I have the ability to set up username/passwords for friends and give them the ability to log into my server and download TV shows I had recorded. This was a supremely cool feature! I was hoping this feature was simply missing in the 3.5 beta I was using, but I just installed 3.5 final and it's still not there. The only remote login is for full administrative rights, so anyone I give the username/password for can also log in and alter my programming, setting, etc.<br /><br />The other new features in 3.5 look useful, but I'm seriously upset about the lack of the user login... :?

I upgraded over the weekend, and so far, I really love the new version. I don't necessarily mind the lack of user-level logins at the moment, especially considering that Snapstream redesigned the web admin to support non-IE browsers. Now I can record my programs using Firefox or Safari! Way to go Snapstream! :)

I have to admit that I'm a newb when it comes to this stuff, so forgive me for asking the most basic question: What does this program do and what do I need in order to use it?

I use beyond tv to record all the shows I want to see, and it automagically records it in the format I want (pocket pc), then I transfer it to a 5 gig microdrive in the ipaq and watch tv when and where I want it.

Real good program.
