Photoshop Elements and Toolbars

Okay. I admit I come from a windows background. And I cut my teeth on the original version of Corel. The one with the windows runtime. So can someone please tell me how to work with Adobe products, or for that matter Macromedia products) without custimizable toolbars. I've really gotten used to my software tools letting me make up toolbars with the commands I use most on them. It's almost a standard UI feature. How do I accomplish this in these products. How do I create some kind of customised pallet or tool so that these very expensive products actually make me more productive.
