The 23-inch, 16:9 ratio widescreen format has similar proportions to a theater screen, while the LCD panel delivers an ultra-sharp image with gorgeous, saturated colors. HDTV ready. From Tatung, an international leader in cutting edge consumer electronics.<br /><br />That popular brand name screen you've seen? It might just be a Tatung wearing someone else's name tag. Buy the original: Tatung."<br /><br /><img src="http://www.digitalmediathoughts.com/images/tatung.jpg" /><br /><br />OK, this might not be the greatest LCD HDTV monitor to ever grace these pages, but you can't argue with the price. With WalMart starting to sell HDTV, I can only assume their "cost controls" will decrease prices for us all.

The specs aren't bad, other than the lack of DVI, but it does have VGA...
Wouldn't be a bad match for a media center pc or XBOX...

They also have a 30" for under $1700...

I'll have to swing by the Wal-Mart for a look...

I'll say this, with prices like this, how can anyone buy a CRT HDTV over a grand? Not me....

But it is only 23". Once you have gone large screen, i.e. >30", I don't see how you can go back. Still, great price.

I've been itching to get an LCD TV and the 30" from Tatung I found at about $1500 is very tempting when that size usually fetches twice as much! Does anybody have any insight on the quality of Tatung TVs?
