The DM-Tech DM-AV10 has a SD-Card slot to extend the onboard 128MB RAM up to 1GB. The DM-AV10 can be switched between NTSC and PAL. It measures 96.0 x 79 x18.0 mm and weighs 133g. It is already available."</i><br /><br /><img src="http://www.digitalmediathoughts.com/images/dmtechdmav10.jpg" /><br /><br />It is currently available for about $250 from Amazon.com. So the top 3 personal video players in my book (based on design and features) are the iRiver PMC, Archos Gmini and the DM-Tech DM-AV10. Has anyone bought any of these yet?

Yep I have had the GMINI 400 for a couple of days now.

Have to say it is a great little device. Yes the screen is small but I looked at it as the video playback was a bonus on a quite stylish, not too expensive, MP3 player.

Once you get involved in watching some TV or a film you really do forget about the size of the screen anyway.

If anybody has any questions they want to ask about it please let me know.

Oh and the only annoying thing I have found so far is because of the slightly rounded edges, when you press the buttons on the right hand side (with the GMINI on a flat surface) the device tips slightly on the rounded edge - meaning you have to hold it the other side aswell.

Suhit, first Amazon does not sell the GoVideo PVP directly. Second the price with shipping is $140! Do I have the right page (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0001X4VV0/qid=1094774368/sr=8-1/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i1_xgl23/002-3804657-2841644?v=glance&s=photo&n=507846)?

Also, note that the video is only half the resolution of a pda meaning the LCD is of lower quality and may actually be an RGB striped display. Having worked with these devices, I will also guess that framerate is half of what the new PPCs will support. I would like to hear from anyone who has one of these on a side by side with any PDA!

Too be honest with my Ipaq2210 and Tosh e800 I have been disappointed with their video (specifically divx) playback even using the excellent Betaplayer divx program. The Archos AV320 I had (it's bust now) played well over 480x320 (as an example) rez's no problem at all, whereas the PPC's struggle. I know there are all sort of parameters to consider like rez, bit rate etc but the experience is far more satisfying with the portable media devices. Indeed the ability to plug in a cable from the device to the TV is just not (easily ?) possible for the PPC's.

That said I wonder if the new 520Mhz + PPC's that are just appearing would probably give that extra boost that maybe required.
