A NAS (120 to 300Gb) equipped with NDAS for the NAS system is capable of mirroring or spanning. It has a Gigabit Ethernet port and a USB 1/2 connection. In the same casing, IO-Data is presenting this external HDD with the same capacity as the NAS, and this HDD comes with Firewire and USB 1/2 ports. This front USB port will allow you to "empty" your USB keys onto the HDD. Both boxes use the same heat evacuation towards the top of the box."

I saw this NAS and I immediately thought of an external hard drive for a PVR or a music server. The first shipment of NDAS enabled products is expected in the fourth quarter directly from IO-Data and via the company's Japanese retailers. Further development of NDAS products are planned and will be aimed at bringing networked storage capabilities into IO-Data's new home entertainment products.
