<div class='os_post_top_link'><a href='http://www.optikvervelabs.com/default.asp' target='_blank'>http://www.optikvervelabs.com/default.asp</a><br /><br /></div>"<i>virtualPhotographer lets photographers with minimal knowledge of digital photo editing achieve professional results easily and quickly. Professional photographers and graphic artists will find the plug-in gives them exceptional control and best-quality results without spending hours with complex photo editing tools. The power of virtualPhotographer lies in its pre-programmed presets, over 50 one-click selections that instantly add photographic styles, and filter and darkroom techniques to a digital photo. The presets automatically apply combinations of film grain, color modification, B/W, soft focus, high contrast and many artistic effects to achieve the same professional-looking images that used to take hours of digital editing. A single preset in virtualPhotographer could involve 10 to 20 steps in a typical photo editing application. </i>"<br /><br /> <img src="http://www.digitalmediathoughts.com/images/vitualphoto.gif" /> <br /><br />When I first downloaded this plugin, I though cool, but never expected to actually use it much. Well I've really played around with virtualPhotographer and I've have a blast with it. If you use a photo editor that supports Photoshop Plugins, you go ahead and download the free plugin and have fun. If you don't know much about all those alpha-channels, gaussian blurs and other tools, this plugin will let you get at these settings and create great looking effects.<br /><br />You can see some great samples that people have created with this plugin in the <a href="http://www.optikvervelabs.com/community.asp">Community</a> section.

This software is GREAT - it reminds me of the Aetherize plugin from Flaming Pear (http://www.flamingpear.com/aetherize.html). Here's my first effort with the plugin...

Before:

After:

(excuse the large images - the 400 pixel wide images didn't do the image justice...now if only my wife hadn't walked in behind the shot like that. ;-))

That is a nice effect. :rock on dude!:

When you can take a photo and create these kinds of effects in no time, people are just amazed.
now if only my wife hadn't walked in behind the shot like that. ;-))Well now that sounds like a project. Why not just remove her from the photo?

Haha, shouldn't it be the other way around, i.e. if only some random person hadn't walked into the background of a shot of your wife. ;-)

BTW, I forgot to mention in my previous post - I have always loved this plugin. OTOH, has anyone tried Kai's Power Tools? Corel now owns Kai's products and pretty much sells of of their plugins and things like Kai's Power Goo in a $99 Corel KPT Collection. Has anyone tried it?

I used to be a HUGE fan of KPT - I bought version 3, but when 6 came out I was a poor student and could't afford it. I tried it later on though and it's pretty cool - hmm....I just looked and they're only selling 5,6,7. I wonder why no earlier versions?
