New patented innovation nanotechnology from Michael E. Thomas, president of Colossal Storage Corporation, makes it real. Michael invented and patented the world's first and only concept for non-contact UV photon induced electric field poling of ferroelectric non-linear photonic bandgap crystals, which offers the possibility of controlling and manipulating light within a UV/Deep Blue frequency of 1 nm to 400 nm."

This is way cool. I don't know when this will actually be coming out but the expected cost of the Atomic Holographic DVR disc drive will be from $570 to $750 with the replacement discs for $45.

This looks cool, but I'll remain skeptical until I see it in production. I bought $1000 USD worth of shares in a company a few years back who claimed to be able to fit 100 GB of data onto a single CD-R using fluorescent gasses. They had partnerships with Ritek and other OEMs, and claimed the product would be out by the end of the year when they first announced it. My stocks are now worth nothing as the company was delisted...<sigh>
