It looks like a 7 megapixel version of the G5 to me, albeit with a slightly redesigned silver body. Fnac.com has a larger picture of the camera."</i><br /><br /><img src="http://www.digitalmediathoughts.com/images/canon_powershot_g6.jpg" /><br /><br />The G6 will be a 7.1 MP camera with 3x zoom (equivalent to 35-140mm) and f/2.0-3.0. It will support JPEG, RAW and AVI formats with 640 x 480 and 320 x 240 video capabilities. It will also support CF I/II cards and a have a USB 2.0 interface. Unfortunately it is listed at over $1K, but other than that the specs look awesome.

Looks pretty nice - 7.1 MP and most especially that f/2 is great. But only 3x? Canon needs to get beyond that barrier. I also thing SD card support is important - they should support CF and SD to get both markets. I wonder what the shutter speed (delay) is like?

35-140 is 4x.

As it is, it's a product rehash. With an awful colour scheme.

Agreed.

3x is no good. I'm just waiting for the "right" model to finally ditch my CoolPix 775. Been spying the Canon S1-IS... the G6 look(ed) interesting but the zoom kills it. Looks like it might be the S1 after all. :)
