I occasionally use the Wacom Intuos 6x8 tablet for graphics work. I would use it more, but my daily activities consist most of software development and video rather than graphics. I do really like the tablet, and when I experienced a problem with the unit, it was repaired for free, even after the end of the warranty period. I give Wacom two big thumbs up... :way to go: :way to go:

I used to use a Koala Pad (?) with an Apple IIe. Fun stuff for a kid...

After some people here had nice things to say about this one's predecessor, I went out and bought one of these for my wife. She has OOS and struggles with the mouse. It's working out very well. She became comfortable with it very quickly and is just as fast with it as a general navigation device as she was before.

As for me, I've been waiting for my chance to play with it. She's heading off in a few days to visit her sister so I'm going to snag it and play with it in Photoshop.

All my cartooning and other illustration stuff are done on the Wacom Graphire usb first genaration. The tablet works as fine as it did 3 years ago.
But if I ever need a bigger tablet I will go for a Tablet PC. I just let these babies to grow up a little bit more. Drawing where I look(by seeing the pen in my hand) like I would do for traditional drawing it is a major artistic factor. I do it already with my PocketPC but the drawing footprint is a kind of small. I've tryied a Tablet PC and the experience was really interesting.
The same special feeling than when I first draw an anti-aliazing large line in Photoshop 2(I think it is the version where this feature was inserted) long time ago! I never wanted to use a computer for any kind of illustration on a computer before that.
Anyway for any sort of funny drawing, a graphic tablet does the job.

I'm just waiting for the Cintiq 18SX (http://www.wacom.com/lcdtablets/index.cfm). to be at a lower price point.

I've got a Graphire 2 that I picked up at Fry's for dirt cheap after rebate. I thought I'd use it a ton with Photoshop, but in reality I only use it a teeny bit.

Why is that? I keep hearing about how good tablets are. Did you find that it just does not fit into your 'work flow'?
