While it is a certainty that students will find ways to get past these obstructions setup by their schools, it's good to see Colleges and Universities take a stand against these selfish, spoiled, morally deprived kids who download music illegally. They need a little lesson in personal responsibility. Crack down on them while they are young and perhaps this education in crime and punishment will stick. Bottom line: If you download music via P2P networks, you are <b>stealing</b>. Here endeth the lesson. Class dismissed.

Unless it's public domain or the artist gives out out free. Sorry about being a smart alec :wink:

I don't think so. If you take CDs from a shop without paying, that is stealing. Unless the law has changed recently, downloading files is copyright infringement, not theft.

There are many good arguments for and against filesharing, but declaring P2P users to be thieves doesn't help IMHO.
