<div class='os_post_top_link'><a href='http://www.hushtechnologies.net/start.html' target='_blank'>http://www.hushtechnologies.net/start.html</a><br /><br /></div><i>"Swift, sexy and silent, the new HUSH™ ATX proves that silent PCs now mean business. Providing increased flexibility and greater choice for multimedia, gaming, design, medical, media, audio, libraries, HTPC, and the home, the ATX benefits from the advantages of our unique heat dissipation technology for the CPU, Northbridge and GPU. At last there is a silent solution for Intel© Pentium© 4, Celeron and AMD Athlon XP© or Duron© CPUs."</i><br /><br />I can barely type this post because my keyboard is covered in drool. Between this sexy slimtop and Sony's new Vaio R-series towers, PCs are actually starting to sport appealing designs. I would give my right arm to have a review unit of this system. Of course, I probably would never have the time to review it because I would be too busy staring at it all day, like a deer caught in a car's headlights. 8O <br /><br /><img src="http://www.digitalmediathoughts.com/images/hushatx.jpg" />

Good design.
Bad price.
The sole US source wants ~$2400 for a P4 2.6 with ATI all-inwonder video. No OS.
The cheapest version is in the $1600 range, apparently.
I'll pass.

Good design.
Good? Good? It's freaking awesome! :) Still, I prefer towers to desktops.
Bad price.
Agreed. The price is unjustifiably high. I'm not sure what Hush's target market is, but it certainly isn't budget concious consumers.

The problem with these is that they are one giant heatsink, and they get incredibly hot. I played with one by a British manufacturer once, and after it had been on the floor for an hour or two I decided to pick it up and put it on the desk. Blimey, was it hot! It burnt me, it was so hot.
I thought this couldn't be right, and rang their tech support to ask. It's normal, but she did suggest I run my hand under the tap.

LOL! Perhaps it makes a nice grill. Perfect for summer camping. You can check your email and grill hamburgers at the same time!

Beautiful, beautiful images Kent!
Almost as nice as that HUSH PC - now that's quite something!

Ah, these "Casing-as-a-heat-sink" things are very expensive. Thermaltake (I think?) has a tower that goes for an insane price too. Think US$1000+.

Anyone know if you can get this type of unit as a barebones device? I love the look of the Hush PC, and like the concept for a media center/PVR for the living room, but I'd rather build my own unit than be stuck with someone else's idea of what I need.
Hmmmm, wonder what's on eBay?.......

My mistake, the case I was thinking of is a Zalman, not a Thermaltake.

Yeah, as attractive as this is (both in looks and in the idea of being without a fan), there are certain laws of thermodynamics that simply will not be denied. I wouldn't find something that got that hot to be practical for a home situation where children, guests, pets, etc. could be accidentally burned by touching the device.

Eh, I don't think this will be that hot. not more than 60C, if it goes over, the CPU is in major trouble.
