The PlexWriter PX-712UF (184x265x52mm, 1.7kg) connects to both Windows and Mac computers using either the built-in Hi-Speed USB 2.0 or FireWire interface and writes to DVD+R discs at 12X, DVD-Rs at 8X, DVD+RWs at 4X, and DVD-RWs at 4X. The drive reads DVD-ROMs at up to 16X, and also boasts high-speed 48X CD-R writing, 24X CD-RW rewriting, and 48X CD reading. Plextor hasn't forgotten about software either and the drive ships with CD/DVD burning software from Roxio and buffer underrun protection to help prevent writing errors. There's also Lossless Linking/Zero Link technology, which Plextor says enables you to perform basic editing tasks directly on a DVD disc, eliminating the need to re-burn an entire DVD after making small edits."

Another nice looking external DVD from Plextor. As with all Plextor drives, the bundle looks good and so does the speed.
