<div class='os_post_top_link'><a href='http://www.apple.com/itunes/100million/' target='_blank'>http://www.apple.com/itunes/100million/</a><br /><br /></div>"As the number of songs downloaded from Apple’s iTunes® Music Store crosses 95 million tomorrow, Apple® will begin the countdown to 100 million songs by giving away 50 special 20GB iPods—one to the purchaser of each 100,000th song downloaded between 95 million and 100 million songs. In addition, the person who downloads the 100 millionth song will receive a 17-inch PowerBook®, a 40GB iPod®, a gift certificate for 10,000 iTunes songs to create the ultimate music library for their iPod and the opportunity to create their own Celebrity Playlist to be published on the iTunes Music Store. All iTunes Music Store customers in the US, UK, France and Germany are eligible."<br /><br />This is a great way to draw to new customers to the iTunes Music store, and entice more consumers to download music. I wouldn't mind winning a PowerBook. Let's hope this contest is more successful than the failed Pepsi giveaway. <br /><br /><img src="http://www.digitalmediathoughts.com/images/itunesgiveaway.gif" />

I may have missed something but what happened with the Pepsi giveaway? They still seem to be advertising their billion dollar giveaway.

The Pepsi iTunes song give-a-way. Not many people redeemed their caps.

That was mainly Pepsi's fault, due to poor distribution and promotion.

If I drank Pepsi I'd use the caps. I'm ready for a song promotion that comes with food/drink I'd buy. I'm not a big Pepsi McDonalds fan.

How about an iTunes / iTunes promotion? Every time you buy an iTunes song you have a 1 in 3 chance of winning a free iTunes song?

Too bad iTunes is still not an international thing. Even though those in the US of A have had iTunes for some time and it's now in some European countries, the poor folks in Australia still can't buy from iTunes.

Ahh, I though the comment was in reference to their new billion dollar giveaway. Does anyone know how that is going? i.e. are people going mad crazy over Pepsi? AFAICT, most people are still drinking Coke.
