After using a Kyosera FineCam S3 camera for a couple of years (really small but no battery life) I finally bought a new Canon. BestBuy had it on sale for $399.00 and I just couldn't resist.

So far the camera seems just right, not too big and all the features I'm likely to need. Although it's only 3.2 MPixels, the photo quality seems to be excellent and the file sizes not too big.

It's about time we had some decent pictures that are actually worth keeping. Most of the ones I've taken lately have been with my phone.

OK, here's a few.....

The pictures are straight from the camera, no cropping or processing. So far I'm pleased with the results I'm getting, especially outdoor ones. I need to work on indoor shots somewhat so there are not any here.

First, Philly from Camden Waterfront.

Next, Ben Franklin Bridge

Fireworks at Cooper River Park. The IS feature is great for long exposure shots with no tripod.

I tried zooming in a bit on this shot and got this result. Not what I expected really, but everyone I've shown it to says this picture is kinda cool.....

Finally, from a walk in the park in Nashua, NH. Bright sunlight and deep shade at the same time is a bit of a challange for me, but there are some great colours and textures to be found.
