Designed for service providers and manufacturers, Version 1.1 supports the W3C standard SVG-T (Scalable Vector Graphics-Tiny) for rendering content on mobile phones. The update also backs network connectivity, has improved audio support, and features APIs to integrate Flash content with phone functionality, Macromedia said."

Flash Lite is the Macromedia Flash profile specifically developed for mobile phones. Flash Lite was adopted quite heavily by users in Japan (of course they have those sweet phones) but apparently it is quickly gaining adoption from operators and manufacturers outside of Japan. The Flash rendering engine can deliver consistent performance and experiences across a wide variety of phones and that is what makes this product all the better development of great content and interfaces for mobile phones. With Flash Lite, mobile phones can become more graphical than they currently are. I was unable to find information on this on Macromedia's site but it would be nice to find out how this will impact (and hopefully improve) viewability of various multimedia formats on phones, and perhaps even cameras.
