View Full Version : Gmail Invitations Anyone?

http://www.gmail.com

So I checked my Gmail account earlier today and found that there were zillions of invitations waiting there to be sent out. At this point, pretty much everyone I know has an account so I figured I should share the wealth with y'all folk, especially since I am that wonderfully generous guy that you have all come to love. ;-) Anyways, I am willing to give six (6) invitations away to whoever needs it. Post here in this discussion thread to get an invite (include full name and email address). One per customer. FCFS.

For those who don't know, Gmail is Google's email service that offers a 1GB email quota and that has a nice and extremely speedy interface with a spam blocker that is supposed to rock. Need I say anymore?!

I did not realize how popular this thread would get. Anyways, I get invitations fairly often so I will try and accomodate the ones I did not get to this time (no guarantees obviously). As for now though, the first 6 people to get their requests in were - Piperpilot, dean_shan, kpjackson, entropy1980, rpokane and Steve1496. In the future, perhaps I should be asking for essays :)

Invitations have been sent. One small side note, in order to save you all from getting tons of spam, I have gone back and edited all the posts in thread (only this thread) and removed all the email addresses. This site does get spidered by google so... well, you know the rest.
Enjoy! :)

I'll give away two of my gmail invitations. But, the deal is, somebody has to point me to where I can get a T-mobile sidekick for free or a Sony/Ericson T610 for free (and it can be free after rebates).

Actually, there are several people that have been able to get POP3 to work with Gmail. Search for "Gmail POP3" on (ironically) Google and you will get several hits.

I think it is still in beta and they want to limit the number of people that apply for accounts right now. But I also think that this is a way of discouraging spammers. Currently spammers can just run a script to create tons of hotmail accounts. That won't be the case with gmail, there will be a bit more control because it will be peer moderated.

DEAL. :D
I'd love a gmail account..
Here is a T610 not only FREE, but they PAY you $125 to take it: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0000AGRYX/qid=1087935297/sr=8-1/ref=pd_ka_1/104-6204488-0604729?v=glance&s=wireless&n=507846
(costs $175 with $300 in MIRs). Of course you need to sign up for a contract (as with most if not all free phones, especially good ones like this).
Wanna hook me up w/ an invitation? :) :)
EDIT: Removed name and email addres.

Ok... how can i become a beta subcriber for gmail? and please!!! what is the invitation for?
Sorry for not explaining.
Employees of Googleİ started giving accounts out to their friends a few months ago. These are called "invitations". After getting an invitatation and having an account for a few days (3 or so), the new person can send out invitations to their friends, which can send out invitations to their friends in a few days...get the idea?
You join the beta program by getting and accepting a G-Mail invitation. It's still a bit buggy, and I've heard that the public will be able to sign up (without invitations) for free starting in October or November this year.
Get it?

Good Afternoon,
I am a mobile professional who has been using both Hotmail and Yahoo for several years, and has yet to get over the size limitations for files and storage. Often I am on a clients site, and have need for information, or files that are within my email account, and I cannot get to them without web based email. Yahoo and Hotmail are far too restrictive.
Please, I need a Gmail account. I would be forever grateful

keep in mind that a whole lot of email providers will drop anything that comes from gmail-the grounds are that the adverts are spam. Yes, perhaps free email is the 'wave of the future' currently spamming is not.

I'd love one if anyone else is giving them out!
If people are simply looking for 1GB email accounts, you can also try www.spymac.com (offers POP3/IMAP) and for 2 GB try www.aventuremail.com (very new service, limit of 10,000 new accounts a week)

I read through everything when I got my account and didn't see anything mentioning the sale or trade of invites. Because so many are for sale on Bay and for trade on GMailSwap.com, I'd assume that it is acceptable.
Please let me know if you find otherwise.

maybe this isn't exaclty a sweet deal, but if someone wants to give up a Tmobile sidekick (I know it sound nuts, but I believe) I will give them two Gmail Accounts. Or, if they can find me one of those for free on the Internet (after rebates will do) or a Sony/Ericson T610 free (after rebates).
Rebates entries only get one Gmail account.
Suhit Gupta

Russel,
I don't quite understand what you are asking for. Are you asking for someone to give you a $279 Tmobile Sidekick for 2 Gmail invites? Or a link to a deal where you can find the Sidekick or T610 for $0?
If the former, dude, you realize that one can get Gmail invites for a buck on ebay, right?! And if the later, then what was wrong with arebelspy's response to your post earlier? :?
