The reason for this is that MSI is using an OLED (organic LED) display which is much clearer and easier to read than a backlit LCD. There is no need for a backlight because it's the text itself that is emitting light rather than the text of an LCD blocking the light out."<br /><br /> <img src="http://www.digitalmediathoughts.com/images/mega-515.jpg" /> <br /><br />This is a great looking small MP3 player, but the lack of USB 2.0 just kills the device for me. Even with only 256 megs, a USB 1.1 connection can take forever to upload songs. Other than this limitation, the looks, size, price all point to a great little MP3 player.

It is my understanding that USB 2.0 is a 3x (as opposed to 20x) benefit in speed when used with flash due to a limitation of flash. So especialy on uch a small device, it doesn' t make much senese to pay extra to load a mere 128 mb.

There is no place for USB 1.1 in any FLASH device.

What about the OLED technology? I've been hearing about it for well over a year, but the rumors calmed down. Now this is the first that I have heard of a OLED device coming to market. What could this mean for other devices?

Not sure. The pictures don't seem to do the technology justice since the reviewer really liked the look. Maybe we'll see this in the stores soon.

USB 1.1 isn't that bad. This is only 256mb anyway.
