The H300 will be available in a 20GB H320 and 40GB H340 versions with USB 2.0 connectivity. This device separates itself from many other mass storage devices on the market, iRiver added USB On-The-Go, or USB OTG. This allows USB 2.0 peripherals to connect directly to the H300 device and download any files or images to it, this eliminates any special adapter cards and it will not display RAW type files. Both products will be introduced to Asia. The H320 will retail for about $425 USD, and the H340 for $550 USD however no date is set for a North American release."</i><br /><br /><img src="http://www.digitalmediathoughts.com/images/h300.jpg" /><br /><br />As with their iHP series, the H300 series will come with an FM tuner, and be able to support MP3, WMA, ASF, Ogg Vorbis, file formats. But it can now also do JPEG and BMP files. The USB 2.0 and ID3 tag support make it just sweeter. Plus that 16 hour battery life is unrivaled as far as I know. I love my iHP 140, but I wish they had an exchange program so I could upgrade to the H340. I called iRiver up to see when they would be releasing this in the US, but apparently there is no word on this.

the hardware is ugly, but it sounds like an awesome player. But for what you get, compared to sayyy a top of the line iPod, are you paying a good price? I personally couldn't afford that, but I still like to check them out.

Heh, funny, that is basically what I was thinking. But I also found the Toshiba e805 to be quite ugly in screenshots but when I saw it in person, it turned out to be quite neat. So maybe this is one of those devices, i.e. one that doesn't photograph well :).

You might be right. But... I do think the navi-buttons and stuff are kind of ugly. Perhaps the sharp edges and square shape sort of throw it off for me. The black body suggests something sleek and stylish, but the buttons scream "I'm a box" at me. Even so, the boxy buttons might really suit the design up close and in person.

I was thinking about this one a little more lastnight and I kind of started to want it :)

Yeah, I'll get over it. Plus, I am thinking about getting the CF/USB host convert for my X5. Then I could hook these together and have a great portable multimedia center.
