I've used products in the past such as <a href="http://www.steinberg.net/ProductPage_n.asp?Product_ID=1361&Langue_ID=7">Clean</a> with mixed results. PlusDeck2 would seem to solve the problems of connecting a tape player and recording and slicing directly to digital audio files. Some minor issues include, clips were not sliced properly, speed of the recording and increased heat inside your CPU (I'm thinking a USB 2.0 or Firewire enclosure would improve this). Products such as Clean will cost you about $100 and require you to hook up your tape player through your sound card. At <a href="http://www.thinkgeek.com/computing/drives/6908/">$149 from ThinkGeek</a>, the PlusDeck 2 isn't much more and the convenience of recording all those <a href="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00005N8BG/ref=m_art_li_1/002-4111357-4408048?v=glance&s=music">wonderful</a> old 1980's music stuck on tapes might make this worth the extra money.<br /><br /><img src="http://www.digitalmediathoughts.com/images/em411_com-hardware-188-1.jpg" />
