I am looking for a MP3 player that can store my 300+ cds. Boy, that Creative MP3 player in the contest would be awesome  . But, I am sure my chances are slim to win that.

So what do you recommend? One of my friends has a Dell DJ that I thought was nice. What are you opinions?

Thanks for your suggestions.

I have a DJ and like it but it is most likely too small for your collection. I think I have about 100 CDs encoded WMA 160k and that is about 10 gig.

A couple questions that will help to refine your selection of products:

1. Have you already encoded your CD collection? What format and bitrate? How big is it?
2. Any other features that you want (PDA functions, voice recording, FM modulation)?
3. Are you planning on buying music online? The format of the online service and their DRM might be a factor.

I would guess that you will probably need a 40gig device. The likely players are Creative, iRiver, and iPod.

My CD collection is in WMA 128 kbs format. I also have the same files converted to 64kbs Ogg to play on my pocket pc.

I think 15 GBs might be ok for me.

I already have a FM transmitter. I am looking for something to store my music and play them. I really don't require any PDA functions, etc.

I had a Napster player for a short time and I have to say it was very cool.
20GB, FM Transmitter, FM Receiver w/presets, FM recorder to MP3, Voice Recorder...all built in to it's relatively small sized metal bodied frame.

I'd recommend it to anyone.
