No mention of WMV, XNA, or Windows Media Center integration so it doesn't sound like this is iRiver's Portable Media Center entry.
Maybe they wanted to jump the gun on Creative?

The hardware looks to be about right for the market, though; especially the game-oriented controls.
No question Sony's PSP is going to have competitors...

Gonna be fun to see how the various players differentiate themselves and how many jump on XNA for gaming...

 .......uh, I would like one now, please.........

Cool looking unit - almost makes me forget my 'convergence' kick right now - you know, the idea that I can get rid of my PDA and cell phone in favour of one device? Now this comes along, and gives me a reason to carry yet another device around with me....

I don't know if there is ever a "perfect" device for any of us, but add quad band GSM/GPRS/EDGE, Wi-Fi, and Windows Mobile 2003 SE in there, and this would be coming pretty darn close!!!!!!

This looks really nice. I wish it had a couple of things, though...

1) A built in free-air and/or cable-ready TV tuner. If it could serve as a pocket TV in this way and could record those transmissions along with the ability to record FM radio transmissions as well (which it may already do), I'd be in heaven.

2) I'd also like to see a CF II card slot. This way, photos, videos, and music could be transferred to and from the device without cables. A CF slot, along with a CF adaptor would allow for transfers from SD, MMC, and MS cards as well.

Other than that, it looks great. But as cool as it is, I wouldn't buy one without at least the CF slot and would prefer both features I listed, in addition to everything else it offers. The screen would need to be of very high quality as well, to be really useful.

It'll be interesting to see what all the competition will do as this market starts to heat up. I think there's a real desire for this sort of thing and I'd love to carry something like this around in my pocket.

How about a Motorola MPx with a TV tuner, an FM tuner, GPS, and a 20GB HDD along with a killer battery? Now THAT would be the ultimate device. But I guess we'll have to wait a few years for that.
