As a subscriber, I have set my preferences to send me each new article by email. I have these sorted by sender into their own folder. The trouble comes when I try to sort into seperate folders for dmt and ppct. Since they both come from the same address, they all end up in one folder.

Suggestion: Setup seperate email aliases for email blasts from each thoughts website.

Just my $.02 worth.

That is a good point, but you could also filter by the name in the From field. That is clearly different even though the email addresses are the same.

That's what I was originally trying to do, but ended up filter by email for some reason. I'll try and putz with that again.

Yeah, because that is the way I have been doing it :). Of course, you could subscribe to the RSS news feeds. That might be easier to filter on if you do that already?!?

I don't, though more and more sites I follow seem to be offering that option.

Perhaps one day I'll get around to trying it.

Anyone have a suggestion for a good reader?

I recommend FeedDemon. Easily the best I have used.

Back to your original question / problem....

If you have the means, setup different email aliases on your end for each site. Then you can filter the incoming mail based on the To address. This is how I handle it. I get feeds from all three sites and since each is sent to a different alias (same mailbox) outlook can easily sort them when it downloads them.

While Feeddemon does look really nice, I would also like to recommend Newsgator. One of the great features about it is that it integrates with Outlook. It has completely changed the way I surf the web, making me more efficient (instead of the random surfing per day) and given that it integrates with Outlook, makes a central place for me to access all my information (email and news). You can get more information from their website at http://www.newsgator.com/

Ya, I've looked at NewsGator, I just found that I need more room than Outlook provided. The window/folder that lists the feeds is so small. I had to scroll all the time.

So I would totally agree with you, except that I use the Unread Mail feature in Outlook almost exclusively. In fact, in Outlook, you can create custom search folders (like the Unread Mail folder) so you can set up the readability of your posts in the way you like.

FWIW, if you really like the standalone RSS reader concept, you may want to also look at Pluck - http://www.pluck.com
