At the core of the system is a 50-inch plasma display/digital TV powered by a Windows Home Center PC running Windows XP Media Center Edition 2004. The PC integrates all cell and landline telephone services, e-mail, address book, instant messaging and home entertainment center services into one box.

To enable the PC to serve as the hub of the home, it is linked to the Home Center Remote and Home Tablet PC, the two other prototype devices in the Windows Home Concept being shown here this week, to enable consumers to access their personal media freely as they roam from one device to another in their home and in their car."

Ahh... so that is what the 2 gig of ram and dual 4 ghz is for. =)

Actually sounds kinda nice. I am finding that the less I want to take work home (and give another 26 hours of hour time) the less I want a computer and more I want a media center. Sounds like something to keep my eye on. Cool.

When I started to read the article, I expected this to be more information on the Microsoft Concept Smart Home. But I guess this is more real :).
