The card, which will be available by the second half of 2004, will sell for $9,999 USD. In conjunction with the announcement, Pretec also announced that it would reduce the price of its 6 GB CompactFlash from $7,499 USD to $3,499 USD."<br /><br />The march continues - nice to see them dropping that 6 GB card to an affordable $3499 USD. ;-)

These prices are always listed as much higher thanthe real street price, and the introductory price usualy drops quickly. However, I could imagine a professional photographer with an 8+ Megapixel camera shooting in RAW mode might need something like this.

All I can say is - the more capacity the better. New high-capacity cards just help to put price pressure on the 2 and 4 Gig card market.
