I was wondering what would be the best book to get, i have been searching on amazon and there are just too many. Some of you are experts and been experts but i need something to walk me through the simple stuff, but i pick up fast, be advance enough for my needs. I don't want a book that just tells me what each stuff does, i can look at help, but i need a book that will tell me tips and trade secrets.
any replies will be greatly apprieciated!

It will cost you a pretty penny, but you might want to take a look at Total Training for Adobe Premiere Pro that was reviewed by Philip Colmer (http://www.digitalmediathoughts.com/articles.php?action=expand,4581) very recently.
Good luck!

(cheap plug time)
I wrote this book for beginners through intermediate users:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0735618739/qid=1073878585//ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i0_xgl14/103-7802356-8833423?v=glance&s=books&n=507846
I wouldn't call it an advanced book, but I think you'll find it almost impossible to find a book that is both for beginners and advanced users. If you're just getting started in digital video, you'll want to establish a baseline understanding of the basics, and my book will help you do that. The truth is, most of the advanced stuff will come from trying things out yourself and online forums - very few books cover advanced tips and tricks.

I bought Jason's book for my Dad when he first got his digital camcorder and we didn't really have a clue between us.
It's very good even if you think you have the basics down. I'd recommend it.

You know, I just NOW noticed that the subject line was for Premier - which my book doesn't really cover at all. Whoops. Sorry for any misdirection there...

It's ok, i would consider your book if i was completely new to this, but really would like something along the line of Premiere. I have purchased a DVD tutorial but i dont' think it will cut it alone....

I haven't really used it too much, but Classroom in a Book for Premiere seems pretty decent - my mum uses Classroom in a Book for Photoshop and really likes it. Plus, if you know anybody that's a teacher, they get to download it (as a pdf) for free!
