HELP! Canon G3 acting funny...

I bought a refurbished (by Canon) G3 from MPsuperstore.com two weeks ago to the day. It has a 1 year Canon warranty, and is in great shape. On the outside, at least.

ANYWAY:
It likes to switch itself from shooting mode to playback mode. I'll be setting up a shot and it will just switch to playback. :bad-words:

I've tried reformatting the CF card, charging the battery, and <gasp> reading the manual. Thought I'd ask here at DMT before dropping Canon or MPsuperstore a line.

PLEASE HELP! This camera is my high school graduation present! :cry:

Ok, basically, it's time to invoke the warranty. Most likely the mode selctor switch, or the circuitry leading to it, has gone wonky.

Thanks for the help!! I know someone who has a G3, so I'll ask him tomorrow and then yell at MPsuperstore for a replacement unit.
