For the quarter ending March 27, Apple beat analyst expectations, earning $14 Million in profit, with revenues up 29%. All this due largely to high volume sales of iPod digital audio players.<br /><br />"The Cupertino, Calif.-based company had another record quarter for its iPod digital music player, selling 807,000 of the devices. It sold 749,000 Mac desktops and laptops, up 5 percent from the same quarter a year earlier."<br /><br />There is little doubt the iPod is dynamite, but lets hope Apple can stay on the cutting edge. Competition in this space is heating up rapidly, and iPod is no longer the only compelling game in town.

Steve Jobs is one of those guys that either makes huge blunders (letting MS have the inroads that would ulimately lead to desktop dominance and the Cube come to mind) or huge sucesses (the orginal Mac...Pixar...his reconquest of Apple...the iMac...and now the iPod). Visonaries are like that I guess 8)
Congrats to Apple!
