We're making lots of good progress and I'll do my best to keep you all updated. (Watch this space for more updates.) Want to help us out with version 2.0? Here's how: The Picasa QA team is looking for more real-life pictures to test our new filters with. We want to make Picasa 2.0 fix all the most annoying photo problems. You know - the perfect moment, and you were there with the camera ready but... the picture is backlit, totally dark, or maybe there are just too many greens where there should have been reds."<br /><br />So let's see...if they're in beta as of early February, and we're coming up on early April...I think we just might see 2.0 pretty quick! Hooray! :D

Awesome, I for one can't wait. Although, I bought Picasa 1.6 just 3 months ago, so I hope I'll be offered a free upgrade or at least a deep discount.

Hadn't heard of Picasa before seeing the review here but tried , liked it and bought it :)

Yeah I really like Picasa (except for some minor annoyances), but now I'm gonna hafta wait for 2.0 before I purchase it.

Yeah, same here, I think I am going to have to pick up a copy of 2.0 when it comes out.

Unfortunately, on 3/19, they posted that they were shooting for a "early summer" release.

Yeah, from other Picasa forum threads as well as google searches, it appears the mid-May is the general expected time frame for release.
