WM 9 Video Options Lock???

I just bought a new PC and now I can't change the brightness or contrast on the slider in the video options bar in Windows Media Player.
It keeps sliding back to the center default.
Anyone???

I think you are talking about the settings just about the progress slider. This is odd, but I have the ability to use it.



What are you trying to play? (file type..etc etc)

I have downloaded some tv shows from....ahem....a bitorrent site.
Some such as CSI I can't change whereas Survivor I can.
Is someone locking the options in the encoding perhaps?

Locking options is definitely an option in some programs during encoding. So that might be the problem in your case. I think you should try downloading some sample mpgs from microsoft's site and see if they give you the same problem.
