Digital reproductions of famous artwork?

Has anyone ever heard of a place to download or purchase digital images of famous paintings? I know, it sounds likes a strange request, but I would really like to have some hi-res (or ever not so hi-res) pictures for my desktop and to show my son.

I have no problem paying for the images but my searching has come up empty. I would appreciate any help.

I've Googled some, and came out with a few good finds, they were good enough to print off in 4x6...
