According to sources briefed by the company, the "Symphony," or Media Center 2005, release is expected to enter beta testing in the first quarter of next year. ("Harmony" was the code name for Windows Media Center 2004, which Microsoft unveiled in late September.) Based on past shipping history, Microsoft will likely release the 2005 version at the end of calendar 2004."<br /><br />Microsoft is at it's best when they're feeling under the gun to improve their products rapidly, for fear that the competition will beat them to it. I think it's great to see such rapid development of the Media Center flavour of XP.

Here is hoping the OEMs will be responsive in getting this product to the users.

Last go around, the OEM's were quick to release it. If I remember, HP released it before they started shipping new PC with it.

Can they hurry up on the Longhorn while they are at it? And raise stock prices by about 2 lol :lol:
