What if I use micro MV :lol: :wink:

We have an age old Hi-8 that I wount be able to even find. Probably getting a Mini-DV next year as I am taking a Premeire/After Affects class

I used the Canon XL1 fairly heavily, which was a lot of fun. It was such a smooth and easy camera to use. Only downside - too expensive.

What's the difference between it and the XL-1S ?

XL1 = old (circa 1999/2000)
XL-1S = newer product. A few new features, they are listed at http://www.canondv.com/xl1s/f_new.html

and a tad too big for those "home movies"

Our school uses them for all the sporting events for the Video Yearbook

Well, it is about the same size as the GL2. Hmm, I guess that is a bit big for home movies... it doesn't matter, I don't have either :(.

The thing with camcorders is: just like cameras, people are willing to sacrifice on features in order to get the best size for their needs. To some, a brick is not an option no matter what quality it can produce

The GL2 is basically the same camera, but the GL2 doesn't have removable lenses. Otherwise, they're virtually identical in every way (body design differences aside).

Ahh, I did not know that. They GL2 always looked like the Sony VX series of digital camcorders. Anyways, good to know. Thanks
