How does Mini DV quality stack up to Digital 8 or Hi 8?

How does Mini DV quality stack up to Digital 8 or Hi 8?

I remember reading the exact resolution numbers but can't come up with them now. I'm looking at selling my Hi 8 to upgrade to a smaller miniDV.

I'd think the comparison is the other way round.. DV great, mini or not!

I am fairly sure that DV should (whether miniDV or otherwise) be better than Hi 8.
