I guess this form will have to do for Minolta.

Has anyone have any updated information on the 'upcoming' Minolta SLR. I heard a rumor that Minolta will follow Cannon with a consumer SLR in the sub $1k range. I also heard that it may be at PMA 2004. Does DMT have a correspondent going to DMT???

I've heard bits and pieces about this camera, but nothing firm. Canon dropped a huge bomb on the DSLR world with the Digital Rebel, so seeing how the other major players react will be quite interesting - and it's a winning scenario for consumers!

No, there won't be a DMT rep at PMA this year...maybe next year. ;-)

I haven't heard much about the Minolta either, but the Nikon D70 seems to be the next major competitor to the Canon Digital Rebel. Unfortunately, it looks like it is going to be delayed until March (it was announced in August 2003). The 300D by Canon can rightly be described as a huge bomb in the DSLR market, it had a significant impact on the sales of the Nikon Coolpix 5700.

Just a correction, the D70 official annoucment is this PMA; last year's "annoucement" is a work in progress annoucement, so it's not a delay. Just one to stem the sales of the 300D a bit.

Just want to leave an update on the Minolta dSLR.

The Konika/Minolta has new website up for the new camera. They are rolling out new flash presentations of the features every couple weeks.

Can't wait to take the Anti-Shake out for a run.
