I try not to be one of those people that has an excuse for everything, but I wanted to be open with the Zune Thoughts community: when I received my Zune, it was a couple of days after most of the other Zune Web sites (the perils of being in Canada I guess). I opened it immediately and started doing video review segments - and I kept going. I ended up with nearly two hours of video footage and even after I pared that down I still had 12 segments that covered everything from the unboxing, first impressions, setup, ROM upgrades for each device, wireless sync, and even some bugs/flaws I encountered. I've always been a bit reluctant to join the wave of video reviews because I wanted to make sure the quality of the reviews was as high as my written reviews (even though the average YouTube viewer doesn't care much about quality). I'd been working on a written review here and there over the few days leading up to the embargo date being lifted (which got moved up by one day, so one less day for me to work on my content), but the videos really ate up the bulk of my time. You wouldn't believe how many hours I spent yesterday editing and uploading video - but I do hope you'll enjoy the videos! The written review will be worked on today - stay tuned!

Meh, I can wait on the words...It's very nice seeing the videos! I'm traveling for work tomorrow and I'm so tempted to put the Zune software on my laptop and pack my cable and device so I can update it in a remote office.

Thanks for working so hard to get those videos up. They're definitely worth the effort!

Glad you enjoyed the videos! Ideally I wanted to have both, but I find that I can more easily press record on my camera and do a live review than I can sit down and crank out 1500 words.
