So Mike's got his hands on a T-Mobile Shadow. It's not mine to keep, but I do have it for a couple more days. I'll be posting some real pictures later today and even a couple quick look posts on the device. Right now, I have to say that this is one hot little number. I wish it had support for 3G, but the small size and really cool slide out SureType keyboard might just make up for that. This is the first device that correctly showed the device image on Vista's Windows Mobile Device Center when it was connected. Sometimes it's the small things that make it all worth while. ;-)

If you have any questions, post away and I'll be answering them along with posting more over the next couple days.

I think you forgot to add "bigger screen" to the list of pluses.:)

BTW: how easy is it to use SureType?

Ah, it's a little bigger, but to be honest, I didn't even notice. It's not like we're talking an inch or two. ;)

Actually, really nice. I was worried about how smart it would be and if it would be usable for typing on. I was surprised and pleased with the performance.

How does the Shadow compare to the Q9?

In what way? The two devices are very different in size and shape and features.

Sorry, should have been more specfic. How does the typing experience compare between the two.

Now we need an official "Rocco has a Motorola Q9h" thread

Ah, gotcha. I can't really compare as I haven't typed on the Q9h for many months now. And the version I did try was an early demo unit. The Shadow has very flat keys. Where the Q9h has more of a rounded key. So the Shadow requires you keep a closer eye on the keys you're pressing.
