So I was wondering what everyone had to say about it. There's been little movement on the Bestseller list. So when a new app breaks into the list, I'm curious to know more about it.

Hmmm...why do I use Gentimer? Let's see...

The built-in alarm isn't reliable, creates duplicate phantom alarms, and is limited to the number of alarms it can store.

Gentimer allows an unlimited number of alarms, has a nifty feature where you have to type in a code to turn it off, repeats the alarm sound until turning it off, has a snooze feature, has numerous other features, and actually works!!!

It's the best $14.95 I've spent.

The counterpart of a gentleman is a lady. :p

I downloaded and installed this. My initial thoughts, it's pretty nice. I did notice a couple gotcha's. Like it supports don't landscape and portrait screens. But it doesn't support device that can change this on the fly like the s710. I created a new alarm and then rotated the screen to type in some of the fields, but they were not visible on the screen. Even after scrolling down, my cursor went off the screen.

I also wish it would allow me to select more than just everyday, weekdays, and weekends. What if I want a timer for every Mon, Wed, Fri? A little more flexibility on this would be very cool.

Otherwise, it seems like a nice little app.

Try emailing the developer with the bugs you found, he seems to be very responsive. One other positive note is the license gives you free lifetime upgrades.

Hello Mike,

I don't know which version have you downloaded, but the latest 2.0 version supports the screen rotation. You can download it directly from http://rivia.net/Gentimer.aspx. I have the SPV E650, which is a clone of s710 and the rotation works (although it isn't working very smooth).
About the recurrence flexibility -> go to Menu->Gentimer->Options->Recurrence Patterns where you can define other patterns.

I'm currently working on some strange WM 6.0 bugs (like hungups during ActiveSync synchronization) so if you'll find any bugs please send them to [email protected], so they could be fixed ASAP.

PS. I know there is a term 'lady', however the term Gentlewoman also exists and it fits better to the all 'gentle' thing ;). http://www.thefreedictionary.com/gentlewoman

I've got version 2.01.

Try this - close the device. Launch Gentimer, press Menu, Alarms, Menu, Add Alarm. Wait for the screen to fully appear and then slide out the keyboard. Once the screen has adjusted start to scroll down. As you press down, the cursor goes from name to Time to Enabled and then it dissappears off the screen.

I agree it works fine if you already have the keyboard out when you create the alarm.

Thanks for the tip on setting the different reoccurance schedules. I don't know why I didn't see that before.
