Another free alternative... SmartToolKit. Allows to place any program on any button (except for Home key, softkeys and such)... Doesn't allow double, tripple or long press, but quite a good alternative...

BTW - I'm somehow thinking the Smartphone world is totally missing STK... o.O

AE Button Plus really rules.

You're right. I don't think there's been much focus on it at all. I really think that the cause of this is all due to the name. It doesn't really tell anyone what it offers, and it almost sounds like a developers tool.
