Doesn't anyone make a flip phone anymore? Seems like all we see these days are variations of the same thing, over and over.</p>

Funny you should say that. I was chatting with some people (who shall remain nameless) and they wanted to know what WinMo needs to do better in the consumer market. The first thing out of my mouth was more appealing handsets - ie Flip. There's such a huge demand for flip phone, but their is nothing good to pick from.

Mike B - who wishes the Star Trk would be updated with a small QWERTY style keyboard and faster processor.....

I sure hope some carrier in the US picks this up or other device makers follow suit! I ranted about this awhile back, it is refreshing to see a company isn't chasing the BlackBerry Dragon (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chasing_the_dragon)!

I agree that I wish this were available in the US and for US band frequencies. I just prefer this kind of form factor and don't require a QWERTY keyboard. The size of this phone just looks perfect!

As a current HTC StrTrk (a la Dopod S300) owner, I've been patiently waiting for it's alleged successor, the HTC Erato (S420), which sports a faster, 400 MHz processor, and Windows Mobile 6, and (yes!) WiFi.

Or I should say "would sport" if it had ever gone into production. The release date has gone from June, to July, to August, to basically "disappeared" from any online mention that I can find. It was the same form-factor, a nice flip phone, and I think they improved the camera as well - photos of it are around on the web (the same pre-production pics, nothing "in the wild").

I *really*, REALLY wish HTC had released this, i would absolutely definitely have bought it. Oh - it's spec sheet listed a SIRF-III GPS chipset as well. It was pretty close to being loaded, aside from HTC's normal chintzy RAM allotment.

BenQ's site lists the phone as Quad Band!

Anyone know anything more about this phone?
