<p>Last week <a href="http://forums.thoughtsmedia.com/showthread.php?t=23029">Palm announced their newest Windows Mobile device</a> - A thin messenger style unit that sports Windows Mobile Standard (Smartphone) and a cool new interface. It didn't take long before pictures and videos started showing up all over the 'net. We've gathered up all the news and provided it here in one easy to find place. So grab a coffee or juice and take some time to take it all in. Then let us know what you think about the latest device from Palm. </p><p><img border="1" alt="" src="http://images.thoughtsmedia.com/resizer/thumbs/size/500/spt/auto/1190037927.usr3.jpg" /></p><p><a href="http://www.theunwired.net/?item=photoview-palm-treo-500v-windows-mobile-6-standard-smartphone">Pictures, including comparison shots</a> @ the::unwired</p><p><a href="http://blogs.msdn.com/jasonlan/archive/2007/09/13/palm-treo-500v.aspx">YouTube video showing the new menu in action</a> @ Jason Langridge's Blog</p><p><a href="http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2007/09/16/palm-treo-500v-hits-fcc-via-asus/">FCC documents reveal ASUS is the manufacturer for Palm</a> @ engadget mobile</p>

this thing doesn't even have wifi... why would anyone consider it, the new menu does look nice and sleek... but i gotta try it out myself first. no gps either... and the design itself, looks kool but i think it could be a lot better. i'll pass on this one...

Earlier shots I saw of the device showed it was anything but thin. Need comparative "stack" shots

It's white ;)

Seriously, the menu work is interesting. Have you seen the video? The author said the video does not capture how smooth the screen works.

Give me one reason this is better than a Blackjack.

The Good:
- 256MB (150MB useable)
- Windows Mobile 6
- Cool carousel home screen
- 2MP camera
- miniUSB connector
- standard headphone adapter

The Bad:
- Tri band (Although, I would be surprised if there isn't a North American version on the way)
- number pad layout is not as nice
- no scroll wheel

The good list is really good. But the bad list effects my everyday usage - especially the tri-band. :o
