We've been working on a new Mobile Web applet platform, called SQIJ. We think it's pretty cool, but we need PDA/smartphone enthusiasts to take the beta version for a spin and let us know what they think.
The SQIJ platform provides an interface for custom applets to be run, which provide a fast and fun user interface to Web content. It also includes an integrated Instant Messenger, for SMS-like messages, without the cost! There are a number of applets that users can enjoy, like:
* RSS News Reader
* Email Monitor (for PUSH email)
* Dictionary
* Wikipedia (a mobile-friendly version)
* ASX stock watcher (with graphs and hi/lo alerts)
We have more in the works, like daily weather information, and business directory searches.
Sqij has been designed for speed, and tight communications, so you save money on your phone bill. We're also hoping to attract a development community, and have streamlined applet development to make it possible for developers to rapidly construct applets of their own, for whatever content.
At present we have two versions of the handset software:
* Windows Mobile Smartphone
* Windows Mobile PocketPC
All devices from the 2003SE models and onwards are supported, and all screen sizes and orientations.
People interested in beta testing can Sign Up for free at our web site:
