Yes; but is the idea of the q9 coming to AT&amp;T completely believable, too? Yeah, we'd say so. This hot little image, while grainy, clearly shows that stylized new-style "globe" logo we've been seeing as of late on its rear and bottom -- and with support for 3.6Mbps HSDPA data, GPS navigation, Windows Mobile 6, and Opera out of the box, we're just fine with this turning out to be legit. The tipster tells us that it won't be called the Q when it comes to the US' largest GSM network, though whether it retains the "q9" branding remains to be seen -- as does a release date. We suppose we can bide our time with an Amoi-sourced SMT5700 while we wait."</i><br /><br /> <img src="http://www.smartphonethoughts.com/images/kris-2007mar-qq9att.jpg" alt="User submitted image" title="User submitted image"/> <br /><br />Thanks to an image sent in by an anonymous tipster, Engadget Mobile is reporting that AT&amp;T branded Moto Q q9 is in the works. It is not known when this will hit the AT&amp;T stores, I mean Cingular, no I mean the new AT&amp;T. This AT&amp;T-Cingular branding confusion is as bad as the Smartphone-Standard branding decision made by Microsoft recently, and what was Moto thinking when they picked the Q q9 name. Getting back on the topic; according to the Motorola press release, the Moto Q q9 is supposed to hit the streets in Q2 of 2007. Let's hope that all this is true. Well whatever it is called, I like this design better than the original Q.

I like the design too; the dual-color and the slanted edges.

The keys look better too.

Definitely. Love the square, bigger, wider keys. Also the * and # keys are better situated.

I'm amazed that the number pad is still aligned in the same way. After using the BlackJack, I find it really hard to dial on the Dash and Q devices. :(

Otherwise, I think it looks like a great device. I like this more than that Vox thing everyone is all worked up about.

Would be interested to know how everyone carries these style devices? Every time I look at one I can't help but think, if carried in a pants pocket, there must be semi-frequent occasions where some function is accidentally triggered just because the keys are constantly exposed.(??)

Though I really like the capabilities such a device offers, if it has to be 'holstered' to avoid the above, then I don't think I'll ever be getting one (or anything similar).

I carry it in my pant pockets. The trick is to lock the keypad (by holding down on the End-Call button) and then put it in the pocket.

As mentioned, you can lock the keyboard by holding the end call button. I also got ShieldZone's full body shield for the Dash and BlackJack so my keys, coins, and Swiss army knife don't scratch the phone's screen.
